As a genetically predisposed individual to hemorrhoids, behavioral and dietary changes had little effect on my condition.
After having undergone three ligations, the condition returned within 6 months, hence the choice of trying THD. The procedure itself was simple and well tolerated - also thanks to my highly trained surgeon, However, the recovery is a little longer than 4 days as described in the pamphlet, a notion that my surgeon had mentioned beforehand.
At post-operative day 6, I can now walk and sit freely, without much discomfort, and the hemorrhoids are gone.
I recommend the procedure to any one who is deemed a good candidate by their surgeon, but suggest that people plan on taking a week off from work or school, which is still better than the three week recovery time for the traditional procedure.
I am overall very pleased with the procedure, as well as my surgeon.
