Our Medical Clinical Specialist

A distinguished physician joined THD Lab in 2007: Dr. Concetto Salafia. He cooperates with our company as a scientific consultant, given his long experience in coloproctology.

After graduating with honours in Surgery and taking a post-graduate diploma from the University of Catania, Dr. Salafia worked in the Surgery Department of the Hospital at Carpi (Modena, Italy), where he headed the Coloproctology Unit from 1978 to 2006.

Over the years he has increased his expertise in Abdominal Surgery, specializing in Coloproctology, and has also acquired experience in Colonoscopy.

He has cooperated with highly qualified Coloproctology Centres, both at a national and at an international level, such as Colo-Rectal Eporediensis Centre, Ivrea, Italy, and St. Mark's Hospital, London, UK.

He has written several articles about coloproctology in prestigious scientific journals, both at a national and at an international level, and has given lectures at several important coloproctology conferences at an international level.

He has lectured on Coloproctology during post-graduate courses for coloproctological surgeons organized by the State University of Milan. He has obtained a professorship in Proctology at the ACOI Special School of Out-Patient Surgery and Day-Surgery. Several Italian hospitals have appointed him "tutor" and have entrusted him with the task of teaching theoretical and hands-on courses on coloproctological surgical techniques.
